Masters Series - Spirit of Montjuïc

"The Magic Mountain", that's what they called it. So it was.

Anyone who was lucky enough to race on the Montjuïc track has special memories of that circuit, of an era when races were special, when drivers defied death each weekend, and when the fans, parents and children, could approach their heroes and the vehicles at every Grand Prix.

The spirit of Montjuïc is alive more than ever today. We will re-live it on the Circuit de Catalonia from the 20th until the 22nd April 2012.

Come with your friends, children, or grandchildren to a different event, that you can be part of and be transported back in time to that golden era.

This unique event is for the whole family and includes:

The environment

Imagine coming to the Spirit of Montjuïc dressed as you would have in that era...

Of course, it isn't necessary to dress as if you had used the De Lorean from "Back to the Future." to attend the event. Dress however you want and come enjoy the show...

However, to really get into the Spirit of Montjuïc, to become part of the atmosphere of the paddock with vintage cars, racing cars, and mechanics ... if you want to take that "magic step" back in time, discover the olden style which suits you best. Go for the opportunity to have a ball and get your family and friends to dress up as well ... The fun starts from the moment you start planning!

The music

You can hear the soundtrack of those wonderful years live in different areas of the paddock at the Circuit de Catalonia during the Spirit of Montjuïc.

Bands in action, disheveled teddy girls and an authentic party are just some of the attractions we have prepared so that the soundtrack of the Spirit of Montjuïc is much more than a 33 rpm LP.

This is the real thing! Genuine attractions of an era we all remember fondly.

If you were too young to have enjoyed them as a kid, this is your chance! This is to be the one time in the year when you can experience what your parents or grandparents experienced... You may even discover some of the reasons for their strange behaviour at times!

All the tickets allow access to the Circuit de Catalunya, the stands and the paddock.

Attending the Spirit of Montjuïc with a classic vehicle

This is a daily and individual admission ticket. Thus, the ticket holder may attend each of the Spirit of Montjuïc days with a different vehicle or with a different companion. The only requirement is that the vehicle used to come to the Circuit has been manufactured prior to 1980.

With this special ticket for classic vehicles, you may access the paddock with the vehicle (classic motorbike or car), park it in the especially reserved area for classic vehicles and lap on the Grand Prix layout of Circuit de Catalunya on Saturday and Sunday during the "Montjuïc Parade". Moreover, this year, the organisation will invite all holders of this type of ticket, who come out to the Circuit with their classic vehicle, to a barbecue on Saturday noon and to a 'butifarrada' (grilled sausages) on Sunday noon.

On Friday the classic vehicle tickets provide access for 1 or 2 persons (one or two vehicle passengers depending on the modality) and the chance to park the car inside the paddock.

On Saturday and Sunday the ticket price includes parking the vehicle in the paddock, lapping on the track during the "Montjüic Parade" and an invitation to the barbecue or the 'butifarrada'. This ticket is also available for a vehicle with one or two passengers.

Any additional person wanting to access the facilities in the same vehicle will have to buy an advance sale general admittance ticket.

This type of ticket for classic vehicles with a right to park the car is limited to 500 vehicles per day. We recommend purchasing the ticket as soon as possible to ensure availability.

¡Very important!

The only requirement to access the venue with this ticket and to be able to take part in all the special activities for classic vehicles is that the vehicle has been manufactured prior to 1980. If not, the gate control staff will deny the access and the vehicle will have to be parked outside.
